As an impressive progress in artificial intelligence, deep learning demonstrates outstanding performance in various applications in the Industry 4.0 such as speech recognition, image reconditions, natural language processing (e.g. translation, understanding, test questions & answers), multimodal image-text, and Augmented Reality. Industry 4.0 smart factories will provide (through the Internet of Things and data sharing) the massive amount of data required for accurate deep laerning training. Industry 4.0 revolution does not depend on one technology but several; the integration of these technologies is what can really improve the manufacturing methods and efficiency of industries. One of the integrated technologies is Augmented Reality (AR). The AR technology brings users a chance to experience an augmented world by overlaying virtual information on the real world images shown on mobile devices, such as phones and head mounted displays, etc. In this way users can perceive both the real world and the virtual world full of real-time, statistical, and/or assistant information that can be used for decision making, worker training, and machine maintaining. Currently, we are doing research on AR for Industry 4.0. We have collaboration work with companies and the government to realize and evaluate our project called Smart Manufacturing Augmented Reality (SMAR). Our vision is to change the way of manufacturing in the Industry 4.0 era.
